The Boomerang Kid’s 2015 in review

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,700 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 28 trips to carry that many people.

The year that was with The Boomerang Kid

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog. You can click the link to see the whole report. Before you do that, however, let me thank you for continuing to hang around this blog. My dear reader, this blog was borne out of necessity during a particularly bad time of my life. But it is slowly changing, I noticed; reflecting the positive changes that has been happening to me. I know it can be icky to read about my misadventures, rationalizations, and what-not. So thank you for the company!

It’s our anniversary

Last Saturday, this blog turned two years old. I didn’t realize that it’s been two years. Where did the time go? My first blog, which moved platforms twice, lasted 5 years. I stopped blogging in 2010, putting my blog identity “The Zen Bitch” on an indefinite hiatus. In August 2012, I went to blogging as “The Boomerang Kid”, to reflect my status as a “returnee” to my former home and presumably my former life here in Manila.

This return has not been without its challenges, many of which I have detailed in some posts. However, in observing the second anniversary of this blog, I want it to be a joyful occasion. Getting a new look for this blog is a joyful thing for me but I want to share the joy with you, my hapless readers. Yes, all 6 of you!

Blog_Confessions NEW LOOK

In one of the anniversaries of my former blog, I created a mix-CD out of the 12 most liked posts in that blog. This was very easy because in my former blog, I used song titles as titles of each post. I did some sort of a raffle where 5 people stood to win a CD each. However, I wasn’t able to deliver the prizes because I got caught up in designing the CD sleeve and looking for a printer that will not object to making just 6 copies of a fairly elaborate CD sleeve. I still got the CDs till now, to be honest.

This time, I’m holding another raffle and I promise to deliver the prize to the winner on time. So okay, let’s do this:

Four second anniversary giveaway, three people will each get a surprise original work of art created by The Boomerang Kid himself before December 31, 2014. This could be a drawing, a painting, a collage, or something written like a poem.

I will send it anywhere in the Philippines via courier. All you need to do is get some entries through the Rafflecopter link below. Please don’t forget to include your email address in the comment that you will write so I will know how to contact you in case you win.

This raffle ends on September 15. Winners will be announced on September 17.

Good luck!

Too busy to blog?

It didn’t take me a long time to realize that it has been almost four weeks since my last post. I have no other excuse than my new job. This is the job I took instead of taking the last course in my post-graduate course in Public Health. Didn’t take me long also to decide to work instead of go to summer school.

The post is perfect for me. The organization fits in my career plan. This is a great addition to my CV. And did I say that the pay is great as well?

nice job! I'll take it!

nice job! I’ll take it!

So there. For the past week I’d been absorbed in the daily affairs of my job. My weekends have been reduced to alternating periods of resting, catching sleep, relaxing, sleeping–oh wait, I already said that.

My blogging has been reduced to posting articles on the Facebook pages of my blogs.

Until now. I will make no promises to try harder to blog regularly next time.

I’ll just do it. If and when I can.
